Get Involved!

Thanks for being here! Toque Off is a volunteer effort and any help you can lend is really appreciated!

Translate the website

Its really embarassing that we don't have a french version of the website right from the start, but if it was my french it would be even more embarrassing. If you can translate the site, or even a page of it, and send the text via signal that would be amazing! You may want to reach out first in case someone is already working on it.

Translate posters

Your french is almost certainly better than mine. Please help translate our posters.

Post to social media

You've got more followers than me. Please post to whatever social media platforms you use and help get the word out. Links to this website, pictures of demonstrations you've been too, it's all good!

Put up posters

Posters are a great way to get the word out. Please consider what you are putting the poster on, and don't stick it somewhere it will cause damage or upset someone. Remember we are trying to make friends!

Shops and community centres often have a bulletin board you can put community messages on.

You can find our posters here.

Help at demonstrations

Maybe you know a good chant, or play the drums? Do you have first aid skills or know how to de-escalate a "situation"? Whatever your skills please bring them with you and help us make Toque Off an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Make Signs

Signs are great to have at a demonstration. If you can make a few extra to bring for other people that would be great. If you have extra cardboard, markers, or pain please bring them so that others can make signs too.

Design Skills

I was thrilled when an unsolicited update to our first website arrived by Signal. Oh that first website... Trust me, it was much uglier than this one. There's still room for improvement. Please reach out if you're able to lend a hand.

The posters could use some design help too! You'll find SVG files on the posters page.

Translations to other languages

We would love to translate this website to as many languages as possible and celebrate Canadian multiculturalism. If can help with a language please contact us before you start and let us know the language, that way we can make sure efforts aren't duplicated and put you in touch with anyone else working on the same language. We would prefer to not use machine translations.
